Prototype (Design)
This is the design of the prototype that will be build by me. However, i will ask for my advisor which Sir Nadaraj for more suitable design
LabVIEW software
LABVIEW
- LABVIEW is a (short for Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench) is a system design platform and development environment for a visual programming language from National Instrumentations.
- LABVIEW is commonly used for data acquisition, instrument control, and industrial automation on a variety of platforms including Microsoft Windows, various versions of UNIX, Linux, and Mac OS X.
- The programming language used in LABVIEW is a data flow programming language. Execution is determined by the structure of a graphical block diagram (the LV-source code) on which the programmer connects different function-nodes by drawing wires
Purpose
1.
The purpose of using
this Labview is to control the water’s level in tank and when it come to the
set point of desired level it will automatically stop or on the pump and also
it will give a signal to user so that the user know either the pump is on or
off and also to let user know the level of water.
2.
So, as the input to
the Labview, we need a sensor to determine the level of the water in the empty
tank, half empty or full as we already set. When it come to desired point, the
pump wil automatically on or off. This process using the Labview to determine
the level of the water using the ultrasonic sensor.

Alternate Current Driver
- AC motor drives can be broadly categorized into two types, thyristor based and transistor based drives. Thyristors possess the capability of self-turn-on by means of an associated gate signal but must rely upon circuit conditions to turn off whereas transistor devices are capable of both turn-on and turn-off.
- Because of their turn-off limitations, thyristor based drives must utilize an alternating EMF to provide switching of the devices (commutation) which requires reactive volt-amperes from the EMF source to accomplish.
- This AC drive is build to control the speed of water pump so that we can manipulate the amount of water that entering the water tank.
Overview
UPS pumps constitute a complete range of 3-speed circulator pumps, available both in 50 and 60 Hz.
The pumps can be used in both open and closed systems. UPS pumps are of the canned-rotor type, i.e. pump and motor form an integral unit without a shaft seal and with only two gaskets for sealing. The bearings are lubricated by the pumped liquid.
Applications
UPS pumps are designed for circulation of liquids in heating and air-conditioning systems. Pumps with bronze or stainless steel housings are also suitable for use in hot-water service systems. Examples of typical applications are:
- One- and two-pipe heating systems
- Main pumps
- Zone pumps
- Boiler shunt pumps
- Pumps for heating surfaces
- Calorifiers
- Underfloor heating systems
- Solar heating systems
- Heat pump systems
- Geothermal heating systems
- Heat recovery systems
- Two-pipe air-conditioning systems
- Pumps for refrigeration units.
Features and benefits
- Maintenance-free
- Low noise
- Low energy
- Complete range
- Available with corrosion-resistant stainless steel or bronze pump housing
- Wide range of accessories
